FAQ
Most Common Questions.
We are a registered non-profit, charitable organization that connects people to meaningful volunteer opportunities, provides community information and services.
How can I help?
City Living NY has very low overhead, which means that almost every penny of your donation goes straight to support our youth, from the social worker hours needed for our direct work with each young person, to the items they need to live comfortably in their homes. Therefore, the best way to help is through donating either to our Youth Empowerment Fund [AN1] [AN2] or by purchasing home goods on our Amazon Wish List. [DL3]
Are there other ways I can help?
We are always looking for corporate partnerships or sponsors. Past partnerships have included companies that provide furniture, mattresses, bedding, and window coverings. We are also trying to identify a moving company that has storage that we could work with. If you work at a company that can help or have connections that would be great. Please reach out to team@citylivingny.org.
I have items I would like to donate. How can I do this?
At the moment, we do not have adequate storage space for large items. Sometimes, if the stars align and we have a youth in need of the furniture being donated we can arrange for pick up and delivery at the same time. If you do have small furniture items in good condition that you wish to donate, please reach out through our team@citylivingny.org email. We do not accept used home goods such as bedding or bathroom items, though décor items such as artwork and lamps are always appreciated.
